Diagnostic Imaging

The PCH Diagnostic Imaging Department brings together nine types of imaging modalities and procedures, including Bone Densitometry, CT Scan, Echocardiography, Fluoroscopy, General Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. These techniques are used to view internal structures in the patients body without using invasive surgery, enabling physicians and caregivers to make accurate patient care decisions.

The department is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a staff of highly qualified technologists and is under the medical direction of board certified Radiologists, who read and interpret all patient scans and results. Newly constructed in 2000, the Diagnostic Imaging Department is centrally located within the hospital to meet the needs of all hospital departments, at all times of the day.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Center
On the cutting edge of technology, PCH completed an MRI Center in 2002, complete with waiting and registration / reception areas for patient comfort and privacy. MRI is designed to produce views of body structures superior to other imaging modalities. It has been proven to be very effective for diagnosing and studying the progression of many types of conditions affecting various tissues and organs within a person's body.
